Laboratory test

Wire rope isolators

Silentflex laboratory · El Astillero, Spain

Compression tests from our laboratory, with loading and unloading. The 954049-03 reached 92 kg with 15 mm of deflection and absorbed 3.3 J per cycle; in its curve sheet the natural frequency drops to 3 Hz. Below, the 954048A-02 and the 954053-01RR, which reached 1052 kg. The area between the two curves is the energy the wire rope dissipates.

Max. load tested
91.9kg
Max. deflection

Lowest natural frequency

Description

Silentflex® wire rope isolators are 100% metal. They are manufactured with a stainless steel cable that is wound around strips made of light alloy.

Shock absorber for vibration attenuation for speeds <400 rpm, fans, motors, pumps, electronic racks, compressors, electronic and electrical equipment on board of trains, ships, submarines, airplanes, armored vehicles, etc.

This shock absorber perfectly isolates mechanical vibrations, protects the material inside containers and any other fragile transported elements, server cabinets, telecommunication racks, data centres, computers, etc. from shocks and damage.

Key features and benefits of Silentflex® wire rope isolators:

  • Natural frequency from 5 to 15 Hz;
  • Internal damping reaches up to 40%;
  • Large multi-axis deflection;
  • Ability to absorb the accelerations of materials that suffer collisions or falls Cable and inserts in stainless steel AISI 316;
  • Bars in 6060-T6 aluminum (alodine treated) or stainless steel (on request).
